Behind-The-Wheel Policy
-
Student must hold a current, valid learner’s permit and present it at the beginning of each scheduled driving lesson. Copies will not be accepted. Permits that have been laminated will not be accepted. If a student does not have the learner’s permit ready at the beginning of the session or it is expired, the instructor must refuse to allow the student to drive the DriveErie, LLC driver training car. Should this happen, you will be charged $50 for a no-show fee and must reschedule the missed driving session.
-
Students will receive three 2 hour driving sessions beginning when the instructor arrives at the location. To schedule those driving sessions please call 814-790-1152. DriveErie suggests students wait one week between each of the three driving sessions in order to practice what he/she has learned in each behind-the-wheel driving session.
-
Wear glasses or corrective lenses if required. If the student does not have their required glasses or corrective lenses, we must cancel the driving session. This will result in a $50 no-show fee.
-
Wear regular, tie shoes for all driving lessons, no flip flops. If the student has inappropriate footwear, we must cancel the driving session. This will result in a $50 no-show fee.
-
Driving session cancellation. Cancellation of scheduled driving sessions not made 24 hours in advance of driving appointment will be charged a $50 no-show fee.
-
If a student is more than 15 minutes late, they will be charged a $50 no-show fee and need to reschedule their driving session.
-
Your instructor will do everything possible to ensure your driving sessions start and finish on time. The instructor reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change session lengths and start/finish times under certain circumstances such as dangerous weather conditions, etc.…. In the event of postponement, we will reschedule the driving session or the remaining time will be carried forward to another session.
-
Students are expected to remain at the meeting location for the instructor for at least 15 minutes after the scheduled driving session start time. If, for any reason, the instructor is late for the driving session, he/she will make a concerted effort to inform the student of the estimated time of arrival. If the delay is greater than 15 minutes, this time will be credited to the student and when possible the session will be extended by the time due. If this is not possible, the extra time will be carried forward to the next suitable driving session.
-
It is imperative that students driving during the driving session pay attention to the instructor’s direction. If the student fails to do so and this results in his own injury or injury of others, DriveErie, LLC and its instructors are not responsible. If DriveErie, LLC receives any tickets for traffic violations, the student driving the car will pay the fine.
-
Student and parent/legal guardian will be responsible for any damage to a DriveErie, LLC automobile and equipment.
-
The instructor reserves the right to cancel any driving session/contract on short notice if it is suspected that student may be unfit to drive due to effects of alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise) or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be dangerous or illegal. Insubordination will also result in cancellations. In such circumstances the lesson will be forfeited and there is no refund.

Additional driving sessions can be purchased for students needing extra instruction. Refer to prices.
